A Wild Sunday Morning Guess About The DCCC & Carol Shea-Porter

Union Leader headline: Politico.com: Dems Snub Shea-Porter In TV buy

“Snub”

Perhaps.

Or perhaps Congresswoman Shea-Porter is no where near as close to toast as some NH Chatterers would have you believe (as I’ve been writing since last October).

And perhaps the DCCC, after consulting the Congresswoman (who also, please remember, took a pass last year on competing against Paul Hodes for the Democratic senate nomination and in taking that pass probably made the DCCC/DNC/DNSC boys and girls very happy) decided that their cash would be better spent (right now) somewhere else. In other words, perhaps all the campaign professionals on that particular conference call were comfortable with where the Congresswoman is currently positioned.

Anyway, it’s not like Shea-Porter needs their money.

Perhaps?

Congresswoman Shea-Porter is vulnerable in November. But she is far from toast.

As I’m fond of saying (and with all due respect to pollsters who do this professionally): If 30% of likely CD-1 general election voters would walk over their mother to vote against Shea-Porter, 32% of likely CD-1 general election voters would walk over their mother to vote for her.

And it’s a grassroots, GOTV fistfight for the other 38%.

For any Republican campaign to pretend otherwise is malpractice, and could set Ms. Shea-Porter up for another win in November.
